More News Feb 17, 2008: Dozens of people around the country are now fasting for impeachment. New Hampshire State Representative Betty Hall, who will lead a public hearing this week on a resolution to urge Congress to impeach, is 87 and fasting, and has said she would consider dying in this fast a good way to end a full life. Here is a report from the woman who began the fast. She met with House Judiciary Chairman John Conyers on Friday [Feb 15] to encourage him to open impeachment hearings on Dick Cheney. March 13-16, 2008: Iraq Veterans Against the War - Winter Soldier. Four-day event brought together veterans from across the country to testify about their experiences in Iraq and Afghanistan - and present video and photographic evidence. In addition, there were panels of scholars, veterans, journalists, and other specialists to give context to the testimony. These panels covered everything from the history of the GI resistance movement to the fight for veterans' health benefits and support. |
