Dear Council Member Chesley:
I am writing to ask you to support a Homer City Council resolution calling for impeachment hearings in Congress.
The charges are too serious to ignore. A Congressional inquiry into whether the Vice President and President have abused their powers is necessary to restore public faith that our government will follow its own laws.
Leaders -- local, state and national -- take an oath of office to support the US Constitution. Our founders cared enough about its fundamental principles to require that elected officials pledge support of the US Constitution.
Our system of Constitutional government by law is being abused by Vice President Cheney and President Bush.

Especially in Alaska, where we are so far away from Washington, I look to you to help represent our views on this fundamental issue in Washington. Our Congressman Don Young will not defend the Constitution in the face of many executive abuses.
